last type of paragraph

I think last week was very hard.. because last week my friend and I had made 2 paragraph. That was persuasive and illustration. In my opinion, the difficult one is illustration. I got difficulty to understand what illustration is. But, after I tried to make an illustration paragraph, I understand. Last week I had made 10 type of paragraphs. Actually when I studied in junior high school, I had tried to make  six type of paragraphs. That was argumentative, narrative, persuasive, descriptive, report and recount. But now, in this university I had tried to understand and make paragraph more than I learnt in junior high school. that’s very wonderful. Hopefully everything that I learnt in my writing class can be useful in my life and it can make to be a good author some years later. Amin… 

An Inspiration

Joining in writing class for several weeks has made me to be a good author. All of paragraph that I read and all of the correction that given by my friends have improved my writing. On this week, I have to write two paragraphs. The first was process analyze paragraph and the second was definition. For the first paragraph, I reviewed Dina’s paragraph. It told about how to make a “ tahu isi “. Her paragraph is a good paragraph because the topic and the topic sentence are clear. It contain the materials of “tahu isi “, the steps and the conclusion of her paragraph. For definition paragraph I reviewed Putri’s paragraph. Her paragraph told about De Javu. It explain about what is De Javu. It is a good paragraph even there was a little mistake of grammatical.

 I realized that made a paragraph need inspiration and more knowledge about the topic that we want to read. that’s my problem, I need more time to get an inspiration for my writing and It make me difficult to decide the topic of paragraph that I want to write.

The harder we try, The more we get

Hello my friends..  I’m here again in my wonderful blog. Now I would like to tell you about my writing class for this week. In this week, I have three meetings of writing class. Two meetings are as usual and one meeting is a replacement from the previous week and it was held on Monday by discussing cause and effect paragraph. In this meeting I corrected Ima’s paragraph. Her paragraph told about the cause and effect of stay up. It is a good paragraph because the topic and topic sentence are clear even there was a little mistakes for grammatical. The effects in this paragraph is so many than the cause.

The next meeting was on Wednesday. as like usual, every Wednesday we have presentation and for this Wednesday I was a presenter with lilis and tryas. the first presenter was tryas. the topic of her paragraph was homework. Actually she explained about explanation paragraph but we though it was a persuasive paragraph because from her paragraph we could know that the purpose of that paragraph is to persuade someone to do their homework.  The second presenter was lilis. She explained 2 paragraph. One of her paragraph was seem like a sentence because all of this sentences in her second paragraph is separated by comma. So, she modified it and made this sentences to be a good paragraph. The last was me. I presented about classification paragraph, there was nothing to be debated because my paragraph was clear. It told about the classification of Rock music.

On Friday, we did worksheet by the theme “ classification “. In this meeting, I corrected lili’s paragraph. Her writing told about the classification of student. It was a good paragraph because the topic and topic sentence were clear even there was a little grammatical error.  In this meeting I got a good lesson.

Ok.. that’s all my activities in my writing class for this week. Even it was a hard week for me, I felt happy to study in my writing class. One sentence for you. “the harder we try, the more we get”. 

Try to Speak …. ( Please!!! )

Last week, I had studied about cause and effect paragraph in my writing class. Actually before I came in my class, I did not really understand about cause and effect paragraph, but after reading the example of cause and effect paragraph from my friends and discussing it with my friends, finally I really understand it. Actually Last Friday my class was not fun as usual, but I got a lesson from my class at that day. I could understand that if we were in a class we had to be able to share our opinion, we might brave to ask something that we had not understand yet and we might brave to say our opinion Because from asking we can understand about everything that we have not known before. Oke.. that’s all my opinion for our class last 2 Friday… what’s your opinion guys… give me your comments…  thank you..

Reflection....

Reflection….

In this week, there were many good stories in my writing class. On the last Wednesday, I and my friends tried to make a descriptive paragraph then we corrected the assignment each other. On that day, I corrected nisa’s paragraph. In her paragraph, she described a picture of rose. She said that, there was a rose in the picture and it was so beautiful.  When I read this paragraph… I think it was a good paragraph, even there was a lot of mistake about grammar in her paragraph.

On the last Friday, there were some presentation about the example of paragraph. They were Riza, Mega, Fia and Dini. Some of them presented about compare and contras paragraph. I think most of them succeeded to present their presentation because all of the student in my class understood about what was the type of the paragraph that presented by our friends. Especially, compare and contras paragraph. Actually at that time, I want to present in front of the class, but I did not have a chance. Yeah… it’s oke.. maybe next Friday, amin…

Descriptive or not ???

Still with the same topic, it was the type of paragraph. On the previous week we had studied about Narrative, we had understood well what the Narrative is and we can analyze a narrative text, So, on the last Friday we discussed about the other type of paragraph, it was Descriptive paragraph. When I studied  descriptive in junior high school, I thought descriptive is the easier type of paragraph that I learned at that time, because I was so easy to make a descriptive paragraph. I still remember, when I made a descriptive text about dolphin and than I presented it in front of my class in junior high school. It was so easy to do it. But last Friday, I felt that descriptive paragraph was so difficult for the first time in my life. Why??? Because when I read descriptive text of my friends, for the first time I thought it was descriptive but after I read once more and I analyze it, I realized that it was not descriptive some of my friends said that it was illustration and the other said that it was definition, but in my mind.. it was an illustration paragraph because when we read this paragraph we could not imagine the subject that discussed in that paragraph. Now I can conclude that  it’s easier for me to make a descriptive text than analyze a paragraph to know it’s descriptive paragraph or not because when I make, I will understand the main idea ( topic sentence ) of the paragraph, but when I analyze the text of the native speaker, usually I don’t understand what is the topic sentence of that paragraph  because the topic sentence is not always available in the beginning sentence of paragraph, we can make it by using our words based on the hole text in that paragraph.

this is my second writing..

 In this writing, I would like to tell you about everything that I got in my writing class. Last week I and my friends in my writing class studied about paragraph. Actually it was not the first time for me to study about it. But when I studied in my writing class last week, I realized that my knowledge of paragraph was so little,  when I studied in senior high school my teachers only told me about narrative, descriptive, recount, report, spoof, persuasive, argumentative, and procedure text. But now..  after joining in my writing class for a week. I recognized some new types of paragraph. There were definition, comparison and contrast, cause and effect, illustration and classification paragraph. For the first time, when I studied this materials. I got difficulty to analyze “what kind of paragraph that I have read…” because each paragraphs seems like have similar shape and similar purpose. Such as definition and descriptive paragraph, argumentative and persuasive paragraph and so on. But I always tried to read some articles about paragraph that had been given by my lecturer Mrs. Vita and I read some example for each types of paragraph to make me understood this materials. Not only read but I also asked to my friend to explain it to me. Finally, now I have understood the difference of each types of paragraph. But I think it’s not enough for me… so I want to try and try to read more articles to make me easier to differ each types of paragraph that I read.

Paragraph is a group of sentence that consist of Topic sentence and Supporting sentence. Topic sentence is usually the first sentence of the paragraph and it will give us an Overview of the paragraph.
